Research Interests
Professor McPherson’s research interests include spectroscopic analysis of forensically
relevant trace materials (including explosives, gunshot residue, tapes, and fibers)
and the development of explosive detection methodologies.
She specialized in the analysis of pre- and post-blast explosives and related device components. She also worked as an explosives chemist for the Naval Explosives Ordnance Disposal Technology Division (NAVEODTECHDIV), where she served as project manager for various explosive detection equipment related projects.
