Faculty Development
The Office of Faculty Affairs and Professional Development (OFAPD) coordinates opportunities at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine and beyond for faculty to enhance their repertoire of skills related to the whole breadth of their role as a medical educator.
The Center for Educator Development, Advancement, and Research (CEDAR) focuses on developing faculty as educators, while the Continuing Medical Education (CME) Office offers opportunities for faculty to improve patient outcomes.
Faculty development programming occurs throughout the year with a focus on topics such as career development, clinical practice, medical skills and performance education, research and data management, leadership skill development, mentoring, wellness and work-life integration, Ignatian mission in medicine, and professionalism.
The OFAPD weekly newsletter highlights on-going development opportunities at the School of Medicine, with our partner organizations, and affiliated institutions.
For development support further afield, the OFAPD sponsors several SLU faculty members to attend conferences such as the AAMC Early-Career Women Faculty Leadership Development Seminar, AAMC Mid-Career Women Faculty Leadership Development Seminar, and the AAMC Mid-Career Minority Faculty Leadership Seminar.
